The deal: it's free, it's alpha, your patterns are yours, don't wreck it for others.
Algoholic is a free, alpha-stage learning environment for live-coding music with Strudel. Alpha means things change, occasionally break, and sometimes disappear between versions. We'll treat your progress data with care, but don't build anything load-bearing on an alpha.
Algoholic builds on the Strudel project, which is open source under AGPL-3.0. Our own source code will be published under AGPL-3.0-or-later at launch. Until then, and after, it comes with no warranty of any kind.
One account per human, please. You're responsible for the email inbox that receives your magic links. We can suspend accounts that abuse the service — scraping, spamming, or trying to break things for other people.
Code you write in the practice editor is yours. Patterns you submit to the gallery are shared under CC BY-SA 4.0: anyone can play and remix them, as long as they credit you and share their remix the same way. That's the point of this scene, and the submit form says so too.
Only submit code you wrote or have the right to share. Submissions are reviewed, and we can decline or remove any pattern.
Lesson content will be published with the source code at launch, under the same license. Strudel itself belongs to the Strudel/TidalCycles community and their licenses.
