The short version: anonymous until you sign in, one email address if you do, product analytics so we can make the lessons better, and nothing sold to anyone. Last updated 18 Oct 2026.
You can use every lesson, tip, and puzzle without an account. In that mode your progress, XP, and streak live in your browser's localStorage — on your device, not our servers. Clearing your browser data clears them.
Sign-in is by magic link, so the one thing we ask for is your email address. We store it, your lesson progress, XP, streak, and daily activity dates in our database (Supabase) so your progress follows you across devices.
We never see or store a password, because there isn't one.
We use PostHog to understand which lessons work and where people get stuck: page views, clicks, and product events like lesson_completed or open_in_strudel. If you're signed in, those events are linked to your account id and email so we can count real people instead of browsers.
No advertising trackers. No pixels. Nothing follows you off this site.
We store the pattern, its title, your note, the credit name you choose, and which pattern it remixes, linked to your account. Every submission is reviewed before it appears. Approved patterns are public, with your credit name on them, and shared under CC BY-SA 4.0 so others can remix them.
The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps short-lived request logs. Accounts and progress live in Supabase. Analytics go to PostHog. That's the full list.
We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't send marketing email — the only email you'll ever get from us is the magic link you asked for.
Want your account and everything in it gone? Email hello@algoholic.ai from the address you signed in with, and we'll delete it. Anonymous data you can delete yourself by clearing site data in your browser.
Algoholic is an alpha run by a tiny team. This page is written in plain language on purpose and describes what the code actually does. Questions: hello@algoholic.ai.
